Shepherds Close

A Smallholding Estate for Luxury Stays & Seasonal Gatherings

Welcome

On the edge of Canterbury, Shepherds Close is our family-run smallholding estate — twenty-five acres of gardens, meadows, and parkland where time slows and nature flourishes.

Both working land and sanctuary, it’s a place where pigs root in the fields, chickens cluck away merrily, rabbits dart along the hedgerows, and our dogs keep cheerful watch.

We welcome guests into this rhythm of the countryside through our private lodge and seasonal gatherings, with more to come as the estate unfolds.

What We Offer

  • Wisteria covered doorway

    Luxury Stays

Wisteria Lodge is our private two-bedroom countryside retreat. Designed with quiet luxury, layered textures, and a private garden framed by the landscape, it is a place to restore and retreat.

  • A group of people are gathered around a long table outdoors during the evening, with string lights overhead creating a warm ambiance. The table is decorated with flowers, and there are candles and drinks on the table. The setting appears to be a dinner party or celebration in a natural, scenic environment surrounded by trees and greenery.

    Wild Dinners

Long-table dining beneath the open sky. Our wild dinners celebrate the seasons with produce from our gardens and fields, cooked over fire and shared in good company. Sign up to be the first to know when dates are released.

  • Two baskets filled with green apples on a grassy area beneath an apple tree, with fallen apples scattered on the ground and surrounding flowers.

    The Smallholding

Shepherds Close is alive with its own rhythm — wildflower meadows, working gardens, and animals that bring the land to life. It is the heart of everything we create and the thread that ties each experience together.
